Is It August Yet???

The NHL finals is going to end tonight, NBA finals are about to start on Thursday, and we do have baseball, but it is that time of year, where we need to start thinking about football, for those that do not always think about it. And since I am at work today, at least for a little bit, even though almost every place is closed, I am going to take this time to do a little Preview for the season. A nice team by team breakdown... AS OF NOW. Of course there is lots of time for this to change.

Santino: AKA Bambino, AKA Radio

First Pick: 1st Overall Pick!

Potential Keepers:

TY Hilton (His boy!) 2nd round

Darren Waller 6th round

Josh Allen 9th round

Outlook: After the first pick, he does have two number 2s before a break until the 5th, where he has two picks again. Has a top QB, I hear Waller is the best Tight End ever, and Hilton is a legit #1 wide out. That being said, you normally draft first for a reason. We will see if Bambino can have a nice bounce back season. No matter what, I hope no he will remember to "don't quit don't quit don't quit."

Robb: AKA Best Man Robb, AKA BMR

First Pick: 2nd Overall

Potential Keepers:

Adam Theilen 3rd round

Antonio Gibson 6th round

Chris Godwin 6th round

Outlook: BMR's season was over on draft day when he went against the mock and did not get Diggs and Theilen back together. Hopefully the offseason has giving him time to reflect and he will no longer go against the mocks. I am sure he is 80% or so done with the draft binder and is looking forward to redeeming himself. Has two great value picks in the 6th that he can do some things with, and besides the 2nd pick in the draft, he also has two 2nd rounders and his 3rd and 4th, just doesn't have a 5th or a 8th, plus that crucial 14th. He does also have a fun 4 picks in a row at the end of the 6th and start of the 7th so that will be a fun 45 minuet wait for the rest of us.

Greg: AKA The Commish AKA G Money AKA Maurice

First Pick: 3rd Overall

Potential Keepers:

DK Metcalf 3rd round

Russel Wilson (His man crush) 6th round

AJ Brown 8th round

Outlook: Kupp and Claypool both very good keeper options as well, but Greg loves his double points so after watching 154 hours of film I can say I truly believeee that those are the players he will keep. Draft is boring for him as of now, besides having Jer's 4th, no 6th and two 8th round picks, he is picking in his spot every round. We will see if the Comish chooses to wheel and deal a little before the draft.

Dylan: AKA DP AKA Michigan's #1 Athletic Director AKA worst athlete in his family

First Pick: 4th Overall

Potential Keepers:

Jonathan Taylor 2nd round

Michael Thomas 3rd round

Patrick Mahomes 6th round

Outlook: 5 picks in the first three rounds, start with a stud QB and a RB1` and WR1 all sings are pointing to a good season for DP that should end in the playoffs for sure. We will see if he does anything having the 4th and 7th overall picks in the draft, or if he likes the value at both spots. Has some other keeper options as well, but I think those three make the most sense, as of now.

Dustin: AKA Ryker AK Rykers Island

First Pick: 5th Overall

Potential Keepers:

Justin Jefferson 6th round

Logan Thomas 9th round

Tom Brady 12th round (Great Value)

Outlook: Has some options with keepers if he wants to go Ju Ju on that beat in the 3rd and hanging with Mr. Cooper in the 2nd. Lost his 5th round pick and doesn't have a 8th, but does have two fours, which is a lot like my dating life. I think the Island is going to be in contention all year, and while the draft is important it may be an in season trade that gets him to the playoffs.

Jeremy AKA Sloney, AKA Mr. Football AKA American's Brazil Ambassador

First Pick: 6th Overall

Potential Keepers:

David Johnson 2nd round

Calvin Ridley 3rd round

Terry McLaurin 3rd round

Outlook: Sloney has two third round picks, may as well use them. Mr. Football has been distracted as of late, but doing important work keeping our friends in American de la South happy but I really feel like it is time that he refocuses and worries about things that are truly important, that of course being fantasy football. Sloney gets back to where he belongs and makes the playoffs and has a shot at another trophy.

Ryan AKA Rite Aid, AKA The member formally known as Dean

First Pick: 10th Overall

Potential Keepers:

Devante Adams 3rd round

Myles Sanders 3rd round

JK Dobbins 6th round

Outlook: Our favorite former Dean is coming off a 3rd place finish and I feel he has all the makings of being right there in contention again this year as well. He has two 3rd round picks and also two 8th round picks, and then no 9th or 10th rounders, but that break for him will come when his team is pretty much done so that will be a nice time for a break./

Matt AKA Tirico!!! AKA who's Matt?

First Pick: 8th Overall

Potential Keepers:

David Montgomery 3rd round

Stefon Diggs 4th round

Kyler Murray 8th round

Outlook: Tiricooooo doesn't have a second round pick, but he does have two 14th rounders so that is good He was 100% correct on the kind of year Kyler was going to have, so I have to think he will stick with him again for only a 8th rounder. The other two keepers are no brainers. All Joking of Tirico aside, he had another solid year last year and looks to be in great shape to have another strong campaign this season. He is one loss away from being the 3rd member of the 100 career losses club though, joining Steve and Santino. (Note: To Be fair, Ryan also has 99 losses to we will see who gets thier first... Both already have over 100 wins!)

Steve

First Pick: 9th Overall

Potential Keepers:

Aaron Jones 6th round

Brandon Aiyuk 9th round

Outlook: The runner up, after a league best tieing13-1 record , a longest winning streak tieing 10 wins in a row, he also got his 100th career win, and became 2nd in all time losses as Santino was nice enough to fly past him. Giving up King Derrick Henry is going to hurt no question, but Aaron Jones will be great to have back and Aiyuk is wonderful value in the 9th round, as he showed great flashes as a rookie last season and is going to have a huge sophomore campaign. In saying that, Jennifer & Ronny gave their best, but it just wasn't good enough, and this year they will have a rough season and get ready for the 2022 season.

Derek AKA King Derek AKA Champion

First Pick: 1st pick.... OF THE 4TH ROUND

Potential Keepers:

Alvin Kamara 6th round for sure

Henry Ruggs 6th round

Tyler Locket 6th round

Then his entire team can be kept in the 9th if he wants

Outlook: Our defending champ will have a long wait on draft day until he picks but you know he is going to wheel and deal and be there with a chance at the end. He has been making moves to have tons of options for late round keepers, we will see what he chooses to do as time gets closer.

Overall Records: (Of the current league members only, cause everyone else is dead to us)

Greg: 112-93

Derek 101-87

Robb 105-95

Jeremy 106-96

Matt 102-99

Ryan 101-99

Steve 100-104

Dylan 22-26

Santino 87-112

Dustin 19-28

Enjoy the rest of your 5th of July and summer. until next time.
