Way back Wednesday-2016

Only two more seasons to go before we are all caught  up on our past Out of the Sandbox League seasons. This week we look at a odd year, 2016. This season we had a regular season champion but do not recognize a champion for the playoffs that season. Sloeny dominated the regular season going 13-1 and scored 161 points more than the next highest person. Tirico went 11-3 and got the 2 seed in the playoffs. While Chris and Derek both went 8-6 to be 3rd and 4th. In the first semi finals Chris upset Sloney 134.31-105.41 as the Hilltop Creepers picked the worst week to have their worst week of the year. Tirico then beat Derek 115.80-97.20. Sloney was able to win 3rd by winning 135.99-128.24. In the championship game Derek scored 118.26 points. Tirico scored more 143.36 but as we know, he is not my champion so we did not have a champion in 2016. Of course we did, and it was Tirico and he had a great squad. Led by Chippewa great Antonio Brown.. proving the only way for a Bronco to win is

Jennifer & Ronny releases a Statement regarding ODB situation

Shortly after 10am est we have received an official statement from the owner of the team Jennifer & Ronny about the pending Odell Beckham Jr. Situation: "At this time we are 100% behind our player Odell Beckham Jr. and he remains a major part of our teams plans for the 2018 season. We will let the legal process take its course but for now he denies any wrong doing and all accusations against him he has told us are false. We will continue to watch this story closely to see if any changes need to be made before the deadline for League keepers." Way Back Wednesday-2015

We continue our look back at past seasons of the Out of The Sandbox League as this week we are up to the 2015 season. A season that saw Ryan dominate pretty much the entire way on his way to a 11-3 season and the #1 overall seed going in to the playoffs. Sloney was second 2 games back at 9-5.  While Travis and Greg both finished with an 8-6 record to also make the playoffs. In one semi final Sloney put up a huge week and scored 148.13 points, enough to win most weeks and head to the finals. Not so fast sweetheart. Travis still easily beat him by scoring 175.77 points of his own to make the finals. In the other semi finals Ryan beat Greg 159.33-109.55. In the finals Ryan was no match for Fear Boner 2.1, even though Ryan beat him twice during the regular season and scored more points overall on the year then Travis. Travis was able to walk away with a 170.65-122.94 victory. In the 3rd place match up, Greg beat his old bud Sloney 102.36-92.09. Travis used Kirk Cousins, taking over f

2018 NFL predictions- Version 1

For the last few weeks, each weekday, minus the 4th of July, we have been previewing a team for the upcoming 2018 NFL season. Now that we have finished that and done all 32 teams, we thought we would look back at what records we picked for each team and using those predict the playoffs and eventual Super Bowl winner.. cause why not. Again it is mid July, so this is subject to change but here is our first draft of our 2018 NFL predictions: NFC: North: Minnesota: 12-4 Division winner 1 seed- bye Green Bay: 9-7 Wild Card 6th seed Detroit: 7-9 Chicago: 4-12 East: Philadelphia: 10-6 Division winner 3 seed New York: 9-7 Dallas: 8-8 Washington: 5-11 West: Los Angels: 11-5 Division winner 2 seed-bye Seattle: 8-8 San Francisco: 6-10 Arizona: 6-10 South: Carolina: 10-6 Atlanta: 9-7 Wild Card 5th seed New Orleans: 9-7 Tamp Bay: 4-12 Eagles over Packers Atlanta over Panthers Minnesota over Eagles Rams over Falcons Minnesota over Rams AFC: North: Pittsburgh: 1

32 Teams in 32 Weekdays-The Washingtons

2017 Record: 7-9 The Washington's were smart, they kept franchise's Kirk Cousins, he never won them anything and they moved on before giving him some huge contract when he never won a playoff game... cause who would do that right? Now they have the greatest #1 overall pick of all time, former Utah Ute Great Alex Smith. Who all jokes a side, is solid, not great, but solid. The Washington's added Paul Richardson to go with Jamison Crowder and Josh Doctson giving Alex some good weapons to throw too. He also has a good tight end in Jordan Reed, during the 3-5 games a year he plays when he isn't hurt. But Vernon Davis is still there who is also solid. The Washington's again added a RB early in the draft this year. Last season is was Samaje Perine, thought by some to be the eventual starter, in the 4th round. This year they added Derrius Guice in the 2nd round who has a great chance of being a starter. Fat Rob Kelly and Chris Thomas is also there, so a running back by

Way Back Wednesday-2014

The soccer game distracted me yesterday, so sorry this is a day late. But today we look at the best season so far in the history of the Out of the Sandbox League, 2014. The Great team "Activities" was the 1 seed as they finished the year with a very impressive 11-3 season. However Touchdown Tirico and Fear Boner 2.0 were bot h right on his tail with a 10-4 record. Hilltop Creepers also made the playoffs with a 8-6 record. In the first semi finals Steve had little trouble with Sloney in winning 139.2-78.02 to make his first and to this point only final. Tirico was able to beat Travis 119.06-102.73 to set up a showdown in the finals. In the finals Tirico had a solid week scoring 130.93 points. Sadly for him, it was not enough as Steve scored 136.18 points to win the title. Jeremy was able to beat Travis in the 3rd place match 78.25-72.87. Activities did have a stacked team in 2014, as they did go all in that year, starting the year before when they made a trade to get anoth

32 Teams in 32 Weekdays-Titans

2017 Record: 9-7 A good season for the Titans last year and they look to continue that in 2018. Marcus Mariota needs to continue to take that next step as a leader on and off the field and the still young QB has some weapons around him. Derrick Henry is ready to take over as Murry has moved on, and be the man. But then the Titans picked up Dion Lewis so the Titans will continue to have a solid 1-2 punch in the back field. The Titans' wide outs should be better this year as well. For one the younger brother of former CMU standout Titus Davis, Corey, is a talented WR and missed most of the season with injuries, him being healthy will help a lot. Rishard Matthews and Taywan Taylor round out there starting WR and Matthews has shown to be solid. Delanie Walker is an above average tight end and having a big target always helps any QB. Jonnu Smith will see plenty of time too as the 2nd tight end. The Titans defense was 17th last season in total fantasy points scored by defenses and

32 Teams in 32 Weekdays-Tampa Bay

2017 Record: 5-11 If Tampa Bay thought they would add Desean Jackson, and with he Mike Evans and Adam Humphries at WR, two good TE in make Cameron Brate again and OJ Howard, plus Jacquizz Rodgers, Charles Simns, and 2nd round pikc in Ronald Jones in the back field would give Jameis Winston all he needs to take the next step.... welcome a suspension to Jameis to start the season..... SOB.... Same old Bucs..... Tampa Bay's defense wasn't much better last season as they finished 25th overall in total fantasy points for defenses. They did sign ex Giant JPP who has come over to give them a hand... see what I did there..... on the line and hope to get more pressure on the QB. Chandler Catanzaro will be handing the kicking duties for the Bucs, a fact that I have already forgotten a second after typing it. Tampa has some talent but too many holes, no running game, and Winston has not shown he can be a leader in the NFL. They also play in a division where the other QBs are Cam New

32 Teams in 32 Weekdays-Rams

2017 Record: 11-5 The Rams made the most of their move to LA, and had a great year, a nice feel good story in the NFL, not sure anyone in LA cares, and now Lebron is there, they will really not care, but hey, if you win more game, a few more people will come. I have always said it is hard to win, but it is much harder to win when people expect you to win, so we will see if the Rams were a one hit wonder and will go back to being the Rams or if they are a legit Super Bowl threat to come out of the NFC. Of course the Rams believe in young QB Jared Goff and he was good last year and gives you reason to believe he will be a great NFL QB fort the next decade. He has one of the best RB in the NFL in Todd Gurley, who had another strong season in 2017 and remains a top 3 fantasy football player. Malcom Brown and Justin Davis are his back ups, so the Rams are another team that still relies very heavily on their featured back. The Rams got more help when they traded with the Pats for Brand

32 Teams in 32 Weekdays-Seattle

2017 Record: 9-7 Seattle started to show signs that their little run is over. Then in the off season it appears Kam Chancellor is retiring too. But they still have Russel Wilson, and between Doug Bladwin, Tyler Lockett and adding Brandon Marshall, they have some weapons on offense. Nick Vannett and Ed Dickson is not going to scare anyone as tight ends, but the Seahawks do have some talent still. The big question will be how good first round pick Rashaad Penny will do as the starting RB. Seattle still has Chris Carson and CJ Posise as well but a lot will relay on Penny and how quickly he can pick up the offense and how good of a rookie year the RB can have. Seattle still does have a strong defense... well at least they did last year, as they finished 5th overall in total points for fantasy defenses last season. But their window is closing and it does look like they will no longer be a top 5 defense. They did add everyone's favorite drinking kicker in Sebastian Kanikowski to ha

32 Teams in 32 Weekdays-49ers

2017 Record: 6-10 Of course the 49ers made the big trade to pick up Jimmy Garoppolo, known better of course as Jimmy G, and some, Greg Morris looking at you, think he is the 2nd coming and will lead the 49ers back to dominance. He really doesn't have a great group to work with though. Pierre Garcon is solid, but Marquise Goodwin and Trent Taylor are not exactly world beaters. They do have a great LT in former Rockford and CMU standout Joe Staley, so they have that going for them, and they used their first round pick on a RT this year in Mike McGlinchey. Jerick McKinnon came over from Minnesota to be their starting running back and he is good. Matt Bredia and Joesph Williams are his back ups, who are not going to scare anyone. Geroge Kittle and Garrett Celek are their two main TE, but the 49ers success will all depend on if Jimmy G is half as good as Greg Morris thinks he is or not. The 49ers Defense was also really bad last season, finishing 30th in total fantasy points for d

Way Back Wednesday-2013

With the Holiday yesterday way back Wednesday was moved to Thursday, as we continue to look at past season in our wonderful league. This week we look at the 2013 season. A semi finals match ups of Chris and Derek and Ryan and Travis  is what we had in 2013. Chris was the 1 seed and finished the season with a 10-4 record. Ryan had the 2 seed and was 9-5, as was Travis who was the 3 seed. Derek rounded out the semi finals with the 4 seed and finished with a 8-6 record. Chris easily defeated Derek 146.29-114.48 in one semis while Travis beat Ryan 192.38-99.59. In the finals both scored a lot less points but Travis was able to win 108.87-104.89. Derek rebounded to win 3rd by beating Ryan 134.61-91.52 Travis may be gone from the league but his legend will leave on, as our trophy will always show Fear Boner as our 2013 champ. Travis used Alex Smith, Dez Bryant, Jamaal Charles, Rob Gronkowski, Marshawn Lynch, LeSean McCoy and the Browns D.... to win the title. Also had Josh McCown, Bria

32 Teams in 32 Weekdays-Chargers

2017 Record: 9-7 (Note: Yes I am doing the Chargers, and soon the Rams, based on San Diego and St Louis... I did this on purpose, I will not call them LA... sorry... Maybe someday I will, but that day is not today.) The Chargers are kind of just there in the NFL.. They have a great RB in Melvin Gordon, Keenan Allen is a very good WR, and Phillip Rivers is a solid QB, especially in fantasy, because he puts up good numbers and you can also get him late in drafts. Their defense even finished 9th overall in total fantasy points last season, which is also pretty darn good. They just missed a playoff spot last year with a 9-7 record... and no one outside of California, or inside of it for that matter, cares at all. Besides Allen, the other wide outs are Tyrell Williams, last year's 1st round pick Mike Williams, and Travis Benjamin, not really a bad group at all for Mr. Rivers. Virgil Green will be getting some back up TE reps to go with Hunter Henry, who is a talented TE, and looks

32 Teams in 32 Weekdays-Steelers

2017 Record: 13-3 After a very successful regular season that saw the Steelers earn a first round bye in the playoffs and another division title their post season was terrible, falling behind early to the Jags and not able to come all the way back to end their season in the division round of the playoffs, before they could get to the much anticipated match up in the AFC title game with the Pats. The Steelers will be fine though, they still have the best WR in the NFL, Antonio Touchdown Brown, the former Central Michigan standout. They still have big Ben, who is always good to see, unless you are a witness or hotel worker and you see him in the bathroom. They also have one of the best RB in the NFL in Le'veon Bell. With those 3 they will once again have a great year, baring injury. There #2 wide out with now be Ju Ju on that beat Smith-Schuster, who is very talented. They also used a 2nd round pick this year on James Washington, who will be in the rotation with Darrius Heyward-B
