2026 Draft Recap

The writing staff is pleased to hear the draft went well, and that there was almost perfect attendance, which is great. It sounds like it was a wonderful weekend of fun. It can be hard to remember when different leagues draft since it can be different each year, oh wait, no, never mind, this league has a constitution that stats the draft is always the 3rd Saturday of August, so I am sure then everyone came ready with months of research and knowledge with tools needed to draft. While the writing staff isn't lucky enough to be at your draft, we have now got a run-down of a round-by-round breakdown of the draft and can give our recap.

Round 1 Recap: brought to you by: Nelly - #1 - YouTube

Best Pick: KW3 at 9 to Ryan: We feel he will have a great year in KC and after already having a top 5 player as a keeper it was important for him to get a RB1 to go with his WR1.

Worth Pick: JTT at 6 to Greg: We feel James Cook will have a better year and that was the right decision there. We do feel though each team got a good player in this round though, the ten players that should have been taking were.

Round 2 Recap: brought to you by: 2 Step (Remix) - YouTube

Best Pick: Justin Jefferson at 14 by C&J Music Factory: The 2nd best wide out available after keepers in the writing staff's rankings sitting here at 14 is a steal, great work by the never ending Hootie World Tour, Chirs could enjoy that pick on his 14-hour trip back to Bean Town.

Worst Pick: Josh Allen at 19 to Tirico: In a wait to draft your QB league, this was way too early. At least it stays in the family, since we do know the Slone family and Josh are very close to way back in his Wyoming days.

Round 3 Recap: brought to you by: Classic TV Theme: Three's Company - YouTube

Best Pick: Breece Hall at 22 by Best Man Robb: Needed a RB1 and got the last true factor back there is that does not have any competition. You know he is going to be the man.

Worst Pick: Malik Nabers at 21 by Steve: We know he is a Giants fan but coming off a major knee injury that required multiple surgeries, it was just too early, tons of other guys he could have taking here that will be ready for week 1, while Nabers may not be.

Round 4 Recap: brought to you by: The Four Horsemen Theme Song (WCW) - YouTube

Best Pick: D'Andre Swift at 37 for Santino: For not knowing when the draft was this was a great pick. The writing staff believes he is going to have a great year as the Bears offense will continue to get better under Ben Johnson. '

Worst Pick: Terry McLaurin at 32 to Ryan: The writing staff didn't like this more so because of team construction and just adding a wide out a few picks before. Thought another RB, Pride or Swift, would have been a better move here.

Round 5 Recap: brought to you by: Hi-5 USA - All Season 1 Songs - YouTube

Best Pick: Carnell Tate at 42 by Tirico: Expect a huge rookie year from Tate in Daboll's offense, who while he was not a good head coach at all, his OC skills and success is well documented. Best player at the spot.

Worst Pick: Marvin Harrison Jr at 48 for Greg: Talented player, the team just scares us, and thought there was better options in the writing staff rankings at the time.

Round 6 Recap: brought to you by: Blossom and Six singing Fresh Prince 's rap

Best Pick: Sam LaPorta at 51 for Santino: Could very well be a top 3 TE, and the writing staff had him as the best in our rankings after the keepers.

Worst Pick: Jayden Daniels at 54 for Santino: Again, too early for a QB in this wait on QB league, had other needs and better options.

Round 7 Recap: brought to you by: FRIENDS Monica - Seven - YouTube

Best Pick: Brain Thomas Jr. at 67 by Chris/Jason: Jags offense has three wide outs all battling for targets and with different "experts" all predicting who will be the best. The writing staff likes BTJ the most and for that we give it our best pick of the round.

Worst Pick: Jordyn Tyson at 66 by Greg: This is easy just because from the time of the draft to the time we, as a writing staff, gets to write this, he has got hurt and is out at least two months.

Round 8 Recap: brought to you by: The Beatles - Eight Days A Week - YouTube

Best Pick: Jordan Mason at 80 by Derek: Great value for a starting running back. We know Aaron Jones Sr is still there for passing downs, but the writing staff believes that Mason is the #1 and will have a big year.

Worst Pick: Aaron Jones at 72 by Ryan: Drafting the back-up 8 spots before the started is a bold strategy cotton, let's see if he pays off for him.

Round 9 Recap: brought to you by: Tommy Boy (1/10) Best Movie Quote - Were you calling from a walkie-talkie? (1995)

Best Pick: Blake Corum at 86 by Greg: Great value at a spot he could have been kept, he comes right back home.

Worst Pick: Jakobi Meyers at 81 by Steve: Terrible value at a spot he could have been kept, had other options and he will be the odd man out in the Jags 3 way. Not sure why Steve loves the guy so much, but it needs to end.

Round 10 Recap: brought to you by: WWE Tye Dillinger Custom Titantron - Ten

Best Pick: JCM at 94 by Chris/Jason: Sumer value for a starting RB, sure there are other guys there but this adds great depth to them, to use as trade bait to some stupid manager after he has 3-4 good games and then does crap the rest of the year like they did last year to some sucker.

Worst Pick: Tyron Tracy Jr. at 95 by Greg: A pick so bad he dropped him less than 40 hours after he took him. This pick was almost as bad as Tyron's blitz pick up last week.

Round 11 Recap: brought to you by: Beyoncé - 7/11 - YouTube

Best Pick: George Kittle at 109 by Ryan: Wonderful value. We know he is old, but he can still play and that offense is still good.

Worst Pick: Texans D at 103 by Derek: WAY WAY WAY WAY TOO EARLY FOR A F ING D! That may be dropped after week 2 after giving up a bunch of points to the Bills and Bengals.

Round 12 Recap: brought to you by: Ciara - 1, 2 Step (Official Video) ft. Missy Elliott - YouTube

Best Pick: Isiah Pacheco at 116 by DP: Even if he has half the role Montgomery had this is a steal and a half at this point of the draft.

Worst Pick: Brandon Aubrey at 112 by Ryan: Not just a kicker but a cowboy kicker. So the writing staff is going to hate this no matter when you draft him, but in the 12th, that is 3 rounds too early.

Round 13 Recap: brought to you by: 13 Going on 30 (2004) Trailer #1 | Movieclips Classic Trailers - YouTube

Best Pick: Isaiah Likely at 130 by Derek: Dart's favorite target early, knows the offense with the new coach, will have a very big year. Top 5 tight end in fantasy in the writing staff's rankings. Just super value here.

Worst Pick: Jayden Higgins at 127 by Chris/Jason: Another one that isn't their fault, he just got hurt and heading to the IR from when the draft was to when we, as a writing staff, are writing this.

Round 14 Recap: brought to you by:Fourteen Years of Flames - Official Trailer - YouTube

Best Pick: Broncos D at 135 by Greg: The proper place to take a good defense.

Worst Pick: Kenyon Sadiq at 132 by Ryan: As a general rule the writing staff tries to stay away from as many Jets as we can, especially ones we have absolutely no idea who in the blue hell they are.

Round 15 Recap: brought to you by: 15 Min Daily Yoga Flow | Every Day Full Body Yoga Routine - YouTube

Best Pick: Tank Dell at 149 by Ryan: This pick gets a lot better with Higgins injury, but we did like it before that too, we just love it now.

Worst Pick: Jason Myers at 141 by Steve: Fairbairn and Little are both much better in our writing staff rankings and one of them should have been the pick there.

Good luck to everyone this season, next week we will come out with our 2026 season preview, going team by team with the best case and worst case for the season.
